Anti-Hair Regimen

There are those who dedicate their sweat, blood and tears to achieve their goals and there are those who just "aint about that life", if you are in the 2nd group this post might help you.

So yesterday after I posted my hair regimen, and I got the same responses I've been getting for a minute; it's stressful, can't be bothered, I work e.t.c. With most things you can go hard from the beginning or make little changes that will eventually lead to the end goal.

So here are some tips for the lazy Uninspired.

Do's

  • Deep condition every time you wash your hair, even if you wear a weave you can still deep condition.
  • Choose the right hair products for your hair;  sulphatete free shampoos, use natural oils instead of mineral oils
  • Find alternative heat-free styles and wear protective styles e.g. buns, up-dos e.t.c.
  • Try to Moisturize and Seal your hair at least once a day.
  • Familiarize yourself with your hair so you can know when it needs protein, when it is shedding, breaking or just dry
  • Drink lots of water, as they say good hair starts from within

Don't

  • Over process your hair when you relax or colour it, that means only apply the chemical to the new growth and reduce the frequency with which you apply these chemicals.
  • Do not flat iron and blow-dry every chance you get. Stay away from the heat
  • Wear your extensions or braids for too long , I know the style still looks great, but let your hair breathe a little.
  • Comb your hair when it is dry, especially if you stretch your relaxers for a bit. Combing 2 textures is just unnecessary stress.
  • Comb your hair starting from the roots!!! Work your way to the top I.e. Tip to root, it is easier to detangle this way.

So to achieve healthy hair, create the right enviroment for hair growth and stop with harmful habits that prevent you from retaining length.
